Like every new year, 2009 started with lots of plans involving school. Many youngsters were as usual excited to be going up another level, while some were excited to be joining school for the first time.
At Off Tu Mission, we had more to look forward to. All roads led to Off Tu Academy; With God we can.

The missions department kicked off with as much zeal. The first mission was in the Western region of Uganda (Rukungiri). The mission ran from 8th Feb to 15th. The second mission was in the central region and it ran from 16th-22nd February. It was conducted in Memory of Janani Luwum, a Ugandan Bishop who was martyred by the former and late president Idi Amin.
The third mission this year is running from 23rd Feb- 1st March. It is also in the central region and is at Ndejje University.

A little about us... OTA001
One of our boys at Off Tu Mission is believed to have been born in 2003, although the actual date is not known. He was born on one of the streets in Kampala. In 2008, Off Tu Mission came in touch with His guardian (Mary) through the Urban Children Ministry (UCM).
Mary a maternal Aunt to him was taking care of his sister as well. According to Mary, the boy's Mum leaves on the streets of Kampala, while the father is not known. The mother is said to have run away from home at the age of 14 soon after their parents separated, and the Father remarried. The boy's mum and the Aunt- Mary have the same mother, but different Fathers.
Mary met her sister on the streets in 2005 having two children at the time. She convinced her to go back home, or stay with her and take care of her children. The mother agreed to move in with Mary, but only stayed for about a month and then disappeared to the streets once more. Mary decided to stay with her sister's children because she was concerned for them.
However, this was very challenging for her since she had no job and had nothing that could guarantee income. She was depending on a friend with whom they shared one room, including the children. She therefore could not afford to educate the children or provide the basic necessities such as sufficient food, clothing and shelter.
However,all this is history as he is now well taken care of at Off Tu Mission thanks to all who have lent a helping hand. May God bless and reward you.

BYE 2008... HI 2009
It's 2009 and 2008 is gone. We thank God sooo much for all he has done for us, and through us.
Our Guiding scripture for this year is Luke 18:27..." The things which are impossible with men are possible with God."
As we ended the year, we were privileged to host the MOT chairman of board Werner Kloos with his wife Sofia, and their children; Romana, Christopher and Josiah.
Gracing us with their presence was Theo and Resy Achenbach with their children Steffanie and Melanie.

The staff at Off Tu mission had an end of year/ Christmas celebration. this was on the 21st of December. The children took part in a Christmas production which involved, nativity carols, dance and drama.

If anyone forgets November 2008, it definitely wont be Felix or Rachel. The two members of Off Tu Mission tied the knot on the 29th. Once again we thank God for the various blessings he accords us, especially the gift of family.

We thank God for his goodness and faithfulness to us. He has led us in the month of October, and we trust that he will continue to do so. We had a mission in Bugiri(Eastern Uganda), and others in various areas with in Mukono.

We are lso grateful to God for adding to our number and for the gift of family.

A team was also sent to Western Uganda on a mission that also involved the official opening of the Living Water Treatment Systems in the region. The programs in th west included evangelism as well as trainings on Health, Hygiene and Sanitation.

We praise God who works in us and gives us ability to accomplish.

September came and went, and with it lots to celebrate. In the month of September, we were able to have 3 Missions, as well as Health and hygiene trainings. The missions took place in Makerere University, Kasangalabi Community, Kako- West Buganda Diocese and in Nakanyonyi. In all these areas, many were ministered to in prayer, in the word: which enabled them to redirect their lives for the better. We thank you all for your continued support which enables us to achieve all this.

Off Tu Mission partners with an organization called Water Missions International (WMI).
The mission of WMI is to provide sustainable access to safe water and an opportunity to hear the "living water" message in developing countries and disaster areas.
We are privileged to have had the Vice president of International Programs at WMI over at Off Tu Mission.
George Greene IV arrived on the 19th of September and he stayed to 5th October. He was able to check on various projects in Uganda and Kenya, and also meet various stakeholders for strategic planning. Some of those he visited included Rotary clubs and the Minister of Water; Hon. Maria Mutagamba. During his stay, he officially opened 1 LWTS system - Nakanyonyi. (more Info about George's visit can be found on; http://www.waterhighlights.blogspot.com

August has been an eventful month for us at Off Tu Mission - Uganda. The team had a training session (11th - 14th ). The training/ retreat was a time to learn, and refresh. Various speakers addressed the team with topics such as Time management, Personnal management, Inner healing as a Minister, among others.

We thank God for three of our sisters from Germany who were serving with us for a while. Franziska, Andrea and Petra had to leave to continue with their studies back at home in Germany. We are glad to have had them and thank God for all that was accomplished through them during their stay in Uganda.

we had 3 major ministry out reaches in the month of August. These were: a youth conference in Mbale diocese-(18th-24th), a mission in Kabule Parish-(16th-24th) and Evangelism and Discipleship in Nakisunga(28th). Once again, we thank God who continually draws more to himself.
